Halloween Inspiration – One Wig, Multiple Uses

Buying a Halloween wig and costume may seem like a large expense, especially for one wear on one day. Then add up all the different costume pieces for a new costume every year! But there are ways to make the most of your costume elements and use them for multiple characters, even your wig. Check out our Halloween inspiration on how to make one wig work for multiple uses.

Mix Up the Characters but Keep the Same Wig

The best way to get the most wear out of your Halloween wig is to come up with several different characters or personalities that could use the same base wig. Keep in mind you can add accessories like scarves, glasses and headbands. And with some wigs you can even create braids, pigtails, curls or updos.

Here’s a great example. A short black bob wig could work for a 1920’s flapper, just add a headpiece with a feather and some heavy eye makeup. Then it could be used with an Egyptian head piece to create a modern Cleopatra. Think of a chic Chanel-inspired pastel skirt suit and hat and you could be Jackie Kennedy Onassis. Then there’s the ever popular Snow White, which could be played any number of ways from classic to more risqué. But all involve a short black wig.
