Best Wigs for Your Face Shape Part 1

When you are looking for the best wigs, you will need to make sure that you are able to find a wig that will accent your face and really bring out the strengths. To be able to do this you will first need to determine what the shape of your face is. You should be able to have a wig specialist help you with this but if you want to be able to get an idea as to what you type of wig you should be looking for you will want to determine what type of face that you have. There are about seven basic face shapes out there. We are going to look at the first three in this article and the last three in part 2 of this article. This would include:

  • Diamond
  • Heart
  • Oblong
  • Oval
  • Square
  • Pear
  • Round

Diamond

The diamond face shape is when you have a narrow chin and narrow forehead. You will find that your cheekbones are wider. You should look for a wig that has fullness at the chin line. You will want to make sure to avoid wigs that add height on the top or add volume to the sides. Generally a bob hairstyle will work very well for this type of face as well as some bangs.

Heart

The heart face shape would be for those that have a narrow chin and wide forehead. This means that you are looking for the best wigs that are able to add volume at the chin. You will also be looking for perfect wigs that are able to give you bangs. This would mean that you are looking for a pageboy look and subtle layers. You will want to avoid short hairstyles like a pixie cut or anything with choppy layers.

Oblong

The oblong face is very long and has narrow bone structure. You may have a long thin neck as well. This would mean that you will want to add fullness at the sides with waves and curls. The bangs should be more like a half bangs. You will want to avoid wigs that have short layers as well as one length wigs.
